75th Anniversary of the Aufbau Verlag Berlin

The Aufbau-Verlag (spelling: Aufbau verlag or Aufbau Verlag) is a German publisher that was founded in Berlin in 1945 on behalf of the Kulturbund for the democratic renewal of Germany and grew to become the largest fictional publisher in the GDR. He appealed to the humanistic legacy of Germany's "poets and thinkers" early on and specialized in philosophical subjects, anti-fascist and exile literature. The program was later expanded to include works from classical world literature, contemporary German literature, Eastern European and Latin American titles.

The company was privatized as part of the reunification of Germany.
