Woodcutter Jonathan can't believe his luck when the Queen of the Forest grants him three wishes. In the excitement, he and his wife Anne forget their greatest longing: a child of their own. The forest queen is generous. The couple gives birth to a son, but he is no bigger than a thumb. Tom Thumb is a funny fellow, but hasn't seen anything of the world yet. Inexperienced, he helps two crooks in a theft - and thereby puts his parents in prison. With the help of his friends, Thumbling sets out to rescue Jonathan and Anne.
