Erika Mann was born on November 9, 1905 in Munich. The eldest child of Thomas and Katia Mann first worked as a journalist and actress and founded the legendary cabaret "Die Pfeffermühle" (together with Therese Giehse). From 1936 she lived mainly in the USA, and in 1952 she returned to Europe with her parents. She died on August 27, 1969 in Zurich.
