Peter Hacks

Ritter Kauz vom Rabensee

What does a knight need first and foremost? A fine suit of armor! It makes him a bold hero. Such armor, however, isn't comfortable to wear. It's heavy. Knight Owl notices this too. "When he walked on a bridge... it broke into a thousand pieces! That's how heavy Mr. Owl was." And his bed also breaks under the weight. A very bad idea, however, is when the knight goes ice skating... In verse, Peter Hacks tells the dramatic yet humorous story of the difficult life of Knight Owl of Rabensee. And clever children will understand once again: everything has its downside. Heribert Schulmeyer has depicted the world of knights with many amusing details and subtle humor, staging the story of Knight Owl of Rabensee as a magnificent spectacle.
